Senior Product Manager
Senior Product Manager with Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, manage, and execute on the vision for Digital Products.
- Establish and participate in Design Thinking, Agile, and LEAN rituals.
- Lead & facilitate in-person research to gain deep customer understanding and empathy
- Turn customer insights into actionable strategies and priorities.
- Identify immediate and upcoming user needs, then work with the team to develop a product plan that addresses them. Strategically evolve and grow existing products.
- Translates business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
- Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
- Manage and groom the product backlog; make future decisions based on the value that will be delivered.
- Monitor research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
- Work with a user research and testing team to formulate, test and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
- Create, prioritize, and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning.
- Make product decisions that drive value on a daily basis.
- Participate in and lead standups, iteration planning sessions, product demo, and retrospectives.
- Works with the product team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand the next steps.
- Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience.
- Participate in and contribute to learning activities around modern agile design and development core practices.
- Drive excellent management skills required to deliver complex projects, including effort/time estimation, building detailed work breakdown structure (WBS), managing critical path, and using PM tools and platforms.
- Build scalable client engagement level processes for faster turnaround and higher accuracy.
- Run regular project reviews and audits to ensure that projects are being executed within the guardrails agreed by all stakeholders.
- Manage the client stakeholders, and their expectations, with a regular cadence of weekly meetings and status updates.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration to drive value and identify and resolve impediments.
- Contributes to product roadmap and backlog, assists in prioritizing features and initiatives based on user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Evaluate all functional requirements and map documents and perform troubleshooting on all development processes.
- Provide product support during & following Go Live.
Skills / Knowledge required:
- Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Agile Software Development principles.
- Has in-depth knowledge of Digital Product Strategy, Design Thinking, and Lean Product Development methodologies.
- Experienced in translating business requirements into functional specifications and actionable product backlogs.
- Expert in using Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Aha! for product roadmap management and sprint planning.
- Skilled in leading and facilitating Design Thinking workshops, user research sessions, and usability testing to identify customer needs and insights.
- Strong ability to turn customer insights into product strategies that align with organizational goals and market demands.
- Experience in conducting competitive analysis and market research to guide product positioning and strategic decisions.
- Proficient in defining KPIs, OKRs, and analytics dashboards to evaluate product success and performance.
- Experienced in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups to ensure consistent team progress.
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and interface design principles, including accessibility and responsive design.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to define APIs, workflows, and technical requirements for new product features.
- Knowledge of web and cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, or GCP environments for scalable product deployment.
- Experienced in data-driven product management, using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel and Tableau for informed decision-making.
- Proficient in creating, prioritizing, and managing product backlogs to optimize business value delivery.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including executives, engineering leads, designers, and client representatives.
- Skilled in project planning and execution, including effort estimation, WBS creation, dependency tracking, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to document standards, best practices, and product processes to ensure consistent execution and knowledge sharing.
- Strong experience in coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver product releases on schedule and within scope.
- Proven ability to evaluate functional requirements, identify issues, and provide resolutions across digital product ecosystems.
- Experienced in launching and managing digital products post-Go Live, ensuring customer satisfaction and ongoing optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Work experience / Technologies required for the position:
- Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in product management or digital program delivery, preferably in technology-driven or customer-facing organizations.
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-level digital products through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, UX, data analytics, and business teams.
- Proven background in leading end-to-end product launches — from concept validation, prototype design, and pilot rollout to full-scale production.
- Experience using modern product lifecycle tools such as Jira, Aha!, Azure DevOps, Miro, or Confluence for roadmap planning, requirements tracking, and release management.
- Hands-on experience with Agile project delivery pipelines, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CI/CD integrations, to coordinate engineering deliverables and releases.
- Exposure to cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for product deployment and integration of microservices or API-based architectures.
- Practical understanding of data instrumentation and analytics frameworks, with experience applying insights from Google Analytics, Looker, Power BI, or Amplitude to guide feature performance and prioritization.
- Experience collaborating with UI/UX design teams using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD to refine user journeys and interface design.
- Demonstrated success in executive-level stakeholder management, including presenting business cases, quarterly product reviews, and ROI assessments.
- Strong experience in documenting product standards, governance models, and operating frameworks to maintain consistency across multiple workstreams.
- Prior experience in retail, convenience, or digital commerce domains is a strong plus.
- PMP, CSM, or Product Management certifications (e.g., CSPO, Pragmatic Institute) are preferred.
Work location is Portland, ME with required travel to client locations throughout USA.
